About

We are Tramex Meters, an Irish-based manufacturer specialising in professional moisture meters, scanners, relative humidity sensors, and data logging systems for the built environment. We’ve been doing this since 1974, and our focus has always been the same: giving building professionals reliable, defensible data when moisture matters.

Our work began with the development of the world’s first non-destructive moisture meter, created through collaboration with leading research institutions. That early focus on practical innovation still shapes how we work today. We design and manufacture both analog and digital instruments that help professionals understand what’s happening beneath the surface of buildings, without unnecessary disruption or guesswork.

We primarily support surveyors, building inspectors, restoration contractors, flooring professionals, roofing specialists, and many other professionals. These are roles where decisions carry technical, financial, and sometimes legal weight. Our tools are built to support that reality — accurate, repeatable readings, clear methodologies, and equipment that stands up to daily site use.

Working with us means using equipment that fits naturally into inspection-led workflows. Our pinless and pin-type meters are designed to locate, compare, and quantify moisture across a wide range of materials including concrete, wood, drywall, plaster, masonry, roofing systems, and composites. Many of our instruments provide material-specific scales and standards-aligned testing, supporting consistent reporting and professional judgement.

For surveyors and restorers dealing with complex moisture scenarios, our systems allow you to move from initial detection through to deeper investigation. Dual-depth scanning helps identify the extent of moisture without damage, while optional integration with in-situ relative humidity probes supports flooring assessments and long-term monitoring. Bluetooth-enabled tools and our companion app allow moisture mapping, geotagged photos, and structured reporting, helping you document findings clearly for clients, insurers, or project teams.

Although we are headquartered in Ireland, our equipment is used globally and supplied through distributors, online retailers, and direct sales. Wherever our tools are used, the aim is the same: to help professionals make confident decisions, reduce risk, and prevent moisture-related failures before they become costly problems.
