About
I deliver pragmatic, effective Business Networking training via one to one coaching, team training or conference speaking engagements.
My approach is informed by 25 years of Business Development experience including 15 years working with the residential property industry.
Too often, business networking training is all about telling people to rock up to an event and hand out loads of business cards. That’s great if you’re super confident and at the right event and you know what to say and you’ve got a ninja memory so you can effectively follow up thirty new connections whose business cards have gone dog-eared in your bag over the weekend. But…. I don’t know anyone like that and that’s why most people either hate networking or can’t make it work for them.
Whether I’m coaching an MD on their strategy for a conference or training a team, I always start by helping people understand their networking strengths and weaknesses and, reflect on their objectives. The latter will change over time and, often, from event to event and/or platform to platform. Armed with that insight, I work with individuals and teams to develop a personalised networking strategy.
One to one coaching
Delivered online or offline although I prefer to start with an in-person meeting.
A lot of the training I do in this area is focused on improving results from attendance at a major industry event or, series of events so we’d address how to identify the right events to attend, identifying who you want to talk to, working out how you’re going to approach them and what you’re going to say and, finally developing follow up strategy. I’d typically recommend 4 sessions of 60 minutes each with three sessions before the conference and one session after. I charge £80.00 each for the first three sessions and £50.00 thereafter (online delivery).
Group training
Always delivered in-person but can be supported with short, online Q&A sessions.
This can range from a one-off 90 minute session delivered as part of a team meeting to a more tailored development programme which would start with one-to-one conversations with three members of your team to understand how they currently approach networking and what’s working and what’s not. Following those conversations, I’d feed back my findings within a tailored training proposal. A series of three in-person group training sessions spread over six months typically works well to start with.
